Pre-requisites

The practical elements of this course are essential as they provide you with vital hands-on experience. It is important that you are physically able to take part in the practical parts of the course. The HSE requires you to attend the full duration of the course and candidates need a basic command of English ( defined as Level 2 ) to be eligible for evaluation and qualify for an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate.

Assessment and Certification

You will be continually assessed throughout the duration of the course by one of our qualified trainers. Upon successful completion you will receive an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate valid for three years. The HSE recommends that all qualified first aiders should refresh their knowledge and first aid skills every year. We offer an on-site Annual Skills Update course which can be delivered at your premises for up to 12 first aiders. If you have a 1 day Emergency First Aid at Work certificate that is due to expire and you are still working in a low risk working environment then to re-qualify you must complete the 1 day course again. This course can train a candidate to be a new first aider or re-qualify those that are due to expire. If your risk assessment has now identified your working environment as high risk then please consider the full 3 day First Aid at Work course.

On-site training room requirement

The floor space in the centre should be clean and uncluttered as this will be used for the practical parts of the course. The trainer will also require a flip chart if one is available
