The three-hour course is designed for learners who have contact with vulnerable adults in their working environment, including voluntary work.

It promotes awareness and sensitivity to safeguarding, enabling learners to be able to identify issues and emphasising the responsibility to ensure that concerns are reported and acted on appropriately.

What will I learn?

 

​The content of this course has been designed to build knowledge and confidence. It will teach you to be able to recognise abuse and neglect, what your responsibilities are, and how to report any concerns.

 

The course covers the following topics:

 

Safeguarding legislation and guidance 

Allegations and complaints

Indicators of abuse or neglect

Sharing information

Communicating worries and concerns

Roles and responsibilities

Reporting allegations and complaints

 

Assessment and Certification

 

You will be continually assessed throughout the course by one of our qualified trainers. Upon successful completion, you will receive a safeguarding of vulnerable adults certificate valid for three years. 

 

​Pre-requisites

 

It is recommended that the room size should be approximately 20 x 30 feet for a full 12-person course. The room should be large enough to seat all candidates comfortably in a semicircle formation. The trainer will also require a flip chart if one is available. Candidates need a basic command of English ( defined as Level 2).
