What will I learn?

The number of training days required to achieve both qualifications has been minimised and streamlined to avoid the duplication of topics associated with attending both the Emergency First Aid at Work and Emergency Paediatric First Aid courses separately.
What’s more, this course is formed from two regulated qualifications, which employers can book for their employees and be assured that they have fulfilled their legal responsibilities for providing quality first aid training, without having to undertake any lengthy due diligence checks.

Pre-requisites
The practical elements of this course are essential, as they provide you with vital hands-on experience. You must be physically able to take part in the practical parts of the course. The HSE requires you to attend the full duration of the course, and candidates need a basic command of English (defined as Level 2) to be eligible for evaluation and qualify for an Emergency First Aid at Work certificate.

Assessment and Certification
You will be continually assessed throughout the course by one of our qualified trainers.
Upon successful completion, you will receive two separate certificates:
Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate
Emergency Paediatric First Aid Certificate
Both certificates are valid for three years.
The HSE recommends that all qualified first aiders refresh their knowledge and practical skills every year to maintain confidence and competence.

On-site training room requirements
It is recommended that the room size should be approximately 20 x 30 feet for a full 12-person course. The room should be large enough to seat all candidates comfortably in a semicircle formation. The floor space in the centre should be clean and uncluttered, as this will be used for the practical parts of the course. The trainer will also require a flip chart, if one is available.
